Can PCBWay supply mechanical parts as well as PCBs?+
Its service catalogue includes CNC machining, 3D printing, sheet metal and injection molding. PCBPit also offers CNC machining and 3D printing. Specify the exact process and deliverable rather than assuming a PCB order includes an enclosure.
Does having both services mean final box assembly is included?+
No. A vendor may offer boards and mechanical parts without including final integration in your quote. Ask who installs the board, checks connector alignment, programs firmware and verifies the finished unit.
Should I compare the advertised prototype price?+
Use it only as a starting point for a matching board configuration. Components, assembly, custom materials, tooling and freight can change the total substantially. A complete project quote is the better purchasing comparison.
What should I check for a board and enclosure order?+
Check hole locations, board thickness, keep-outs, connector access and tolerance accumulation. Provide matching PCB and mechanical revisions and define whether an initial fit sample is required before a larger run.
What files should I send to PCBPit?+
Send Gerber and drill files, a BOM with exact manufacturer part numbers, pick-and-place data and assembly drawings. Include quantities, the board revision, test requirements and delivery destination so the quotation covers the build you actually need.
How do I compare the total cost?+
Use the same revision and quantities for each quotation. Include boards, components, setup, assembly, testing, freight and applicable import costs. Separate one-time tooling from recurring costs, and check whether unused parts or fixtures will be returned.
Can I transfer a design from another supplier?+
Yes, you can ask PCBPit to review an existing manufacturing package. Supply the original design outputs rather than a screenshot or an old invoice. Confirm stack-up, finish, panelization and approved component substitutions before ordering the new build.
Does a quotation include functional testing?+
Only when it is part of the agreed scope. Provide firmware, test inputs, expected results and any required fixture. An electrical continuity check or optical inspection does not establish that an assembled product performs its intended function.
